Zita makes high-fire porcelain agateware at the Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago. By mixing her own colors she creates unique patterns on all her pieces ensuring they truly are one-of-a-kind. While the art of ceramics is incredibly not environmentally friendly, Zitta always uses recycled packing materials for shipping and tries to be as environmentally friendly in her process as she can be.
“I learned to throw while in undergrad at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; after a ten-year hiatus, my husband, using reverse psychology, got me to take a pottery class. I was in love, again. After 5 years of working on agateware, I feel like I can finally put my own spin on it.”
